Ego Likeness was created in 1999 by artist Steven Archer and writer Donna Lynch. Taking their name from Frank Herbert’s classic science fiction novel 'Dune', the band began as an experimental/dark trip hop project. By 2000, Archer and Lynch were moving the project in a darker electronic/dance direction, resulting in three full length albums over the coming years.

For 2010, Ego Likeness signed with Metropolis Records and Dependent to release their fourth album, Breedless. The album showcases their dark electronic sounds sensibilities overlaid with Donna’s passionately emotive vocals. While many may compare them to Curve and Collide, Ego Likeness continues to take their music to darker corners of the human psyche.

Donna Lynch: Vocals/Words/Piano/Synths
Steven Archer: Guitar/Vocals/Synths/Drums/Programming

"Breedless keeps the high standards set by Ego Likeness' previous releases and surpasses them. The band claims this to be its best work and they are certainly correct. Lyrically beautiful and musically powerful, Breedless is already one of the standout albums this year."
- RE:GEN Magazine

"Despite the simplicity and accessibility of the material it is rather diverse and rich at the same time. The whole album is in fact a very qualitative record that presents interesting pieces of music able to impress all fans of the style."
- reflections of darkness

"We can no longer speak of trip-hop influences, but a sound that rather evolved towards romantic-wave music. Guitar parts and electronics were meticulously melted together. “Breedless” is a cool piece of music coming from a band that sounds like having reinvented their own sound. This could be like a new start for Ego Likeness! Well-done!"
- Side-Line Music Magazine

“Breedless” contributes with an heavy sound with great harmony in the Alternative Electro/Rock scene. The strong and clear vocals of Donna and the striking sound structure it creates a fresh sound for the listener. You will be showered with catchy melodies to a great energetic sound."
